About 3 weeks ago as I was hiking this trail in the Red River Gorge, I came upon this scene. It had rained just a few hours before which really made everything pop, with the aid of a polarizing filter attached to my camera lens. Since it was a cold and wet Winter day I decided to name this shot “Winter Green”.
Looking through some image’s shot a few weeks ago, I really liked the shadows in this one. At first, I was not crazy about the overhanging dead tree branches in the upper part of the image. But the more I looked at it, along with the shadows, the more I liked it.
If you would like to see more of my work featuring the natural beauty of Kentucky visit.

I enjoy shooting small details of nature. This image is called “Frozen Feet” because of the ice formations, shot yesterday in 10 degree weather, so they weren’t the only frozen feet.
