“ARTS IN HEALTHCARE”
A recent purchase of a few of my large prints by the University of Kentucky’s Albert B. Chandler Hospital in Lexington, KY was a real honor. It is exciting to see my work in yet another Kentucky Healthcare Facility. Studies have shown the healing benefits that art helps to create by providing a tranquil and healing environment for the patients.
I have been very fortunate since starting my photography business in 2009, to now have over one-hundred of my photographs installed in various Kentucky hospitals. There is a dedicated gallery on my web site with a few samples of my installations at some of these facilities.
If you would like to display the natural beauty of Kentucky in your healthcare facility, home or business, stop by and browse through my online gallery.

Pieces of my work printed on photographic paper and canvas can be found in several health care facilities across Kentucky. But Saint Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, KY has been the first health care facility to install my work printed on metal. I am humbled by their appreciation of my work. To date, they have purchased eighteen of my large metal prints, these two images are the most recent. Having my work at their facility along with so many great Kentucky artists gives me a sense of accomplishment.
The Printing Process
Through a printing process known as dye-sublimation, an image is embedded directly into the metal, not on top of it. Metal prints are created by using dye-sublimation inks on transfer paper and then placed on a specially coated sheet of ChromaLuxe aluminum. Heat is applied at about 400 degrees during the printing process which causes the inks to change from solids to a gas.
This process then causes the dye particles to be embedded into the ChromaLuxe substrate. The richness of colors and amazing details of metal prints make them seem to come alive. You have to see one to believe it, they can be best described as printing an image in high-definition.
“Flat Lick Falls”
I’m a huge fan of “Metal Prints”, so when I display my work they are my preferred choice. A metal print shows an incredible level of detail and seems to bring a photo to life.
My work can be found in several health care facilities across Kentucky. But now, I’m excited and honored to say that Saint Joseph East Hospital in Lexington, KY has been the first hospital to buy my work printed on metal. As of last week they have now purchased sixteen large metal prints of my work, these three were their most recent purchases.
